Professor of the Practice of Management
For more than 20 years, Professor William Pietersen served as the CEO of multibillion-dollar businesses such as Lever Foods, Seagram USA, Tropicana, and Sterling Winthrop’s Consumer Health Group. His top-selling book Strategic Learning is widely applied within Columbia’s executive education programs.
The content was very strong and the program was well designed. I really enjoyed Professor Willie’s module based learning, it allowed me to complete as I had time. I appreciated having the notes section built into the modules as well. Another component that I really enjoyed were the weekly team events. This helped to deepen my learning and I felt the technology used to conduct the class was perfect for this work. I would highly recommend this to others.
Assistant Vice President
The pace was excellent, especially with working a full time job. The content was spot on and relevant (and applicable to many different roles within the organization). I really enjoyed the format as well with the combination of lectures and live virtual. I felt the virtual sessions perfectly complimented the lectures, with the right timing.
Professor Pieterson was great. I feel that the use of very specific language was so targeted that every sentence contained a gold nugget of insights I am able to take with me as I grow as a leader. I also enjoyed the live sessions and ability to learn from classmates from other industries, all experiencing different challenges.
Our programs are designed for busy professionals. Participants are expected to spend 4-5 hours each week watching video lectures and completing assignments. There are also live online sessions most weeks, which last 1-1.5 hours each.
Our leadership development programs last 3 weeks. Additionally, you will complete a short orientation prior to the official start of the program.
Upon successfully completing the program, you will receive a certificate of completion from the sponsoring business school. ExecOnline provides non-degree programs for which no grades or university credits are provided.
