Professor William Klepper is the academic director of Columbia’s Executive Education program. He’s worked on customer programs for a number of corporations, including AT&T, Chase, DuPont, and General Electric.

Professor Rita McGrath is a globally recognized expert on innovation and growth strategies, with an emphasis on corporate entrepreneurship. Her work and ideas help senior leaders chart a pathway to success in rapidly changing and volatile environments.
Professor of the Practice of Management
For more than 20 years, Professor William Pietersen served as the CEO of multibillion-dollar businesses such as Lever Foods, Seagram USA, Tropicana, and Sterling Winthrop’s Consumer Health Group. His top-selling book Strategic Learning is widely applied within Columbia’s executive education programs.

Adjunct Professor Peter Meola has more than 25 years of senior executive experience at multinational businesses, including The Seagram Company, Tropicana, ExxonMobil, and British Petroleum. His primary research areas are leadership of organizational culture and strategic learning as a leadership process.
This course took me out of my comfort zone and stretched my thinking about how I can be a more strategic thinker and leader. The quality and content of the lectures was excellent. Each session provided a simple but effective toolkit to tackle each of the key areas to define, implement, execute, and monitor a strategic plan. The toolkits or methodologies provided were of a generic nature to allow them to be applied at any level of the organization. I was quite surprised how effectively the methodologies applied to my own strategic planning. The online/anytime approach provided helped greatly to allow me facilitate the training into my already busy schedule.
The content was perfectly timed to current state activities happening at work. I was able to apply many of the learnings into my daily conversations. Our programs are designed for busy professionals. Participants are expected to spend 4-5 hours each week watching video lectures and completing assignments. There are also live online sessions most weeks, which last 1-1.5 hours each.
Our leadership development programs last 6 weeks. Additionally, you will complete a short orientation prior to the official start of the program.
Upon successfully completing the program, you will receive a certificate of completion from the sponsoring business school. ExecOnline provides non-degree programs for which no grades or university credits are provided.
