Stephen Bailey Founder and CEO

Stephen brings a passion for helping executives and their companies solve their most pressing strategic challenges through innovative technology solutions.

Before ExecOnline, Stephen served as the CEO of Frontier Strategy Group (FSG), a venture-backed software and information services business serving Fortune 500 executives who have responsibility for emerging economies. Stephen grew the business from an early-stage start-up to a company that serves nearly half the Fortune 500 across a range of international markets and business functions. Prior to his role as CEO, he served as FSG’s first Chief Product Officer, with responsibility for the development and delivery of all products and client-related content. The offerings developed by Stephen and his team served executives across roles ranging from general management to human resources to strategy and finance.

Before joining FSG, Stephen was an associate in the venture capital and private equity group of WilmerHale. Stephen is a member of the Boards of Directors of the Truman National Security Project and the Glenn Pelham Foundation. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from Emory University and holds a JD from the Yale Law School.


Mark Ozer Chief Commercial Officer

Mark brings over 20 years of consultative client experience to his discussions with Fortune 500 clients and elite partner institutions.

Previously, Mark was a Managing Director at the Corporate Executive Board (CEB) supporting heads of Human Resources (CLC-HR and CLC-Verticals) and their teams in the Eastern United States and Canada. Upon joining CEB in 2003, Mark was a leader in the Strategy, Management and Innovation practice where he was responsible for supporting senior-level executives of strategy, innovation and corporate development. From 2005 to 2007 Mark was a member of CEB’s European leadership team and successfully launched the Business Leadership Forum serving divisional presidents.

Prior to CEB, Mark was a founder and president of Global Sports Connexion an international sports marketing and student advisory firm representing clients from 15 countries with offices in New York and Paris. Prior to receiving his MBA, Mark competed worldwide on the Association of Tennis Professionals tour.

Mark received his B.A. in History from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg school at Northwestern. Mark resides in New York with his wife Ava, a Senior Vice President of Marketing for Chanel USA, and their two children: Anaïs (age 12) and Nicolas (age 10)


David Foster Chief Academic Officer

David has been at the cutting edge of online education for the past two decades, with a particular focus in management education. His passion is combining the best of instructional design and technology to increase the effectiveness of business leaders.

Prior to joining ExecOnline, David was Vice President of Curriculum and Faculty Relations at 2U (formerly 2tor), where he led curriculum development for the ground-breaking MBA@UNC, a successful online program in the Kenan-Flagler Business School of the University of North Carolina.

From early on, David has had a particular interest in case-based learning for business. In his doctoral work at Northwestern University’s Institute for the Learning Sciences, he developed an interactive cases architecture that automatically coached students through the financial analysis process. He later commercialized the concept into a product that has been distributed by Thomson/Cengage over the past fifteen years.

David served as Director of Online Course Development at UNext, where a partnership of the business schools at Stanford, Columbia, Chicago, and Carnegie-Mellon created an online MBA program for Cardean University. At UNext, David and his colleagues innovated a unique Problem-Based Learning approach in course design.

At Accenture, David led the R&D effort in the development of simulation-based training for corporate clients. He also developed interactive training for the banking and insurance sectors with Omega Performance, and he has a patent for an educational macroeconomics simulation design.

David obtained his MBA from the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley, and his Ph.D. from Northwestern University.


Julia F. Alexander Chief Program Officer

Julia is responsible for global course operations, data & analytics and university partnerships. She brings her passion for data-driven decision making, innovative content delivery channels and superior client service to ExecOnline’s Programs.

Julia previously served as CEO of Dalberg Research, an emerging markets-focused global research firm. In this role, she oversaw a team of data analytics professionals in Johannesburg, Nairobi, Lagos, Dakar and Beijing with additional presences in the US and Europe. Julia previously served as Chief Product Officer of Frontier Strategy Group, a research and software company serving Fortune 500 executives operating in emerging markets. She led the firm’s global Consumer, Technology and Healthcare efforts and was responsible for the strategy, development and delivery of all products and client-related content globally.

Julia began her career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. She worked in Mergers and Acquisitions and served in the Office of the Chairman, working with the CEO on client relationship management and emerging markets strategy.

She is a Fellow of the Truman National Security Project, Resident Entrepreneur at 1776 Ventures and Board Member of the Black Fives Foundation. Julia holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in International Relations from Stanford University. A native of Manhattan, she currently resides in Washington, DC.


Barry Goldberg Chief Technology Officer

Barry brings over 20 years of technology and customer experience to his work at ExecOnline. With a passion for education and learning outcomes combined with a zeal for clean and intuitive user experiences, Barry has built high-performing teams and technologies at numerous cutting edge organizations. Previously, Barry was CTO at HNW Inc., kgbdeals Inc. and at Unigo.com where he was the chief architect responsible for defining and implementing technology and software for web and mobile-based products.

He was also head of technology and software at The Princeton Review, Zedak Corp., and ACTV, Inc. Barry is a member of the New York CTO Club. He received his B.S. in C.S. from the Florida Institute of Technology.


Michael Griffin Chief Enterprise Product Officer

Michael is responsible for all enterprise products and services supporting the full lifecycle of participant selection, program planning, program execution and post-program implementation and assessment. He also leads ExecOnline’s customer adoption efforts.

Michael joins ExecOnline as an executive leader with deep expertise in product management and operations at high-growth information businesses.  Most recently, Michael was Executive Director at Corporate Executive Board (CEB) where he was Head of Product Creation and Management for the HR practice, including the flagship Corporate Leadership Council program (CLC).  Before that, he spent more than a decade helping grow CEB’s finance, strategy & legal products.

Michael received his B.S. cum laude in Foreign Service as well as a JD magna cum laude from Georgetown University.  Michael resides in Washington DC with his wife Kate and two daughters.
